Areas of Practice

Georgina predominantly practices in criminal law. After ten years at the Bar, she has extensive experience in State and Commonwealth indictable matters. She appears in trials in the County Court (sole counsel) and in the Supreme Court (junior counsel). She also appears in the Court of Appeal and prepares written work for both sentence and conviction appeals.

Experience

Georgina’s recent experience includes cases involving homicide, culpable driving, money laundering, drug trafficking and importation, workplace fatalities, local government prosecutions and sexual offences (including ancillary proceedings such as Supervision Orders).

During 2015, Georgina was a lecturer in Legal Ethics at the Law Faculty of the Australian Catholic University.

Before coming to the Bar, Georgina worked as a solicitor at Women’s Legal Service Victoria and prior to that she worked as a solicitor in the area of commercial litigation at Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

Georgina holds an Indictable Crime Certificate and is on the Victoria Legal Aid Preferred Trial Counsel List.
